I used to be a potter and sculptor. In the late 70's I was working with raku ware and took it to extremes. Some of the work was 18" to 30" weighing 25 to 35 pounds and then these were a mere 1/2" to 2" pieces.
Those who have worked in raku know the difficulty in removing large and heavy pieces from the hot kiln alone. Some were lost but most survived.
The small pieces were almost as difficult as too much pressure from the tongs would crush them.
There are time I wish I still had my studio and worked with clay. Maybe I will again.
